So, as proposed in our Course Plan, we are going to have our first moment of formal assessment next Tuesday (October, 13th)- the Midterm Exam.
After some debate in class and a lot of reflection on my part, I decided that the test will be divided in 2 parts: a focus on language (structure) and a short paragraph (+- 20 handwritten lines).
For the first part of the test - the more structural one - you won't be able to make any sort of consultation. Though I haven't prepared the exam yet, this part will probably be comprised of 10 sentences written in an inadequate form that you must ransform into more formal/academic versions.
The second part will be a paragraph (with beginning, middle, and end) about one of the following themes (you can choose the one you like best):
- Historical places
- Aesthetics vs Health
- Animal rights
(these topics were drawn from the list of topics you suggested in class)
For the writing of the paragraph you can consult books, dictionaries, notes... but you CANNOT consult any eletronic sources
Any questions, please write!
