My name is Luana and I am a doctoral student at PPGI as well. I have been teaching English for about 8 years, and during this period 2020 was definetly very challenging in terms of adaptation and modernisation. I believe that due to the recent events, the relationship between teaching and technology tends to be more developed, and this is one of the reasons I am interested in this discipline, because it will be positive for both my academic interests and also to my teaching methodologies.

My name is William, but you can call me Will. I am enrolled in this course as a special student, but I will be a regular MA student in 2021-01. I have been teaching English since 2014 and Spanish since 2019. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a programmer for five years and I hold an undergrad in Software Analysis and Development and another one in Letras (FURB - Blumenau). My name is João Luiz Coelho, I am a first-year MA student (until the end of this semester!) being advised by professor Mailce Mota. I am studying the interface between language and numerical cognition, which is something I am really excited about!

Also, I am an English teacher since 2019 and one of the things I love to do is to look for new resources that I can include in my classes. Currently, I am obsessed with a fairly simple tool: wheelofnames.com. It is a randomizer that helps a lot with classroom dynamics, especially in the remote teaching/learning era that we are living in right now.

I'm Flávia from Joinville, S.C. I've been teaching English for a long time, almost 30 years. In this course, I'm a special student, but in 2021/1 I'll start as a regular PhD student. When I started teaching, in the early 90's, top technology devices were mimeographs and tape recorders... Does anyone in this group remember those times?! rsrsrs...  

I've heard from Professor Celso from a friend from PPGI who told me about her research on digital storytelling, shared some articles with me and I got really interested in this topic.

Besides, nowadays, our life is online, thus, this course seems to be essential to improve my pedagogical practice. And this is, basically, my main expectation: I want to learn more and have a solid theoretical basis for my practice.

My name is Andréia and I'm a Ph.D Candidate. I'm professor Adriana's advisee and my research is focused on teacher education. 

I've been teaching English since 2002 and I've recently started working (again) as a pedagogical coordinator in a language institute here in Florianópolis. 

I'm really excited to start this course since I am a technology enthusiast and I love using it in my classes - even though I believe I could make better use of the tools we have available.

My name is Mauricio, I am thirty years old and I have been working as an English Teacher for more than 10 years now. I have always been a language enthusiast and have always loved technology, so being able to connect both is something I am really interested about.

I am really looking forward to attending this course and starting my Master's as Professor Celso's advisee this upcoming semester. I will be researching about how technology, mainly mobile apps, can assist learners on vocabulary acquisition.
